Dundee Tigers 14 – Belfast Giants 0

Tigers romped home to victory against the SNL’s basement club on Saturday night running out 14 - 0 victors. The visitors showed some early spark and the acrobatic endeavours of Boyd in their net ensured it took until the 13th minute before the 1st goal of the night as Scott Marr fired home on the powerplay. Within 20 seconds Richy Fox had doubled the hosts lead after a selfless feed from Kris Phillips. Paul Guilcher finished the period scoring after some nice interchange play with linemates Ewan Heeles and Grant Reekie.

The Tigers got things under way quickly in the 2nd period as Ewan Heeles scored just 18 seconds after the puck dropped. Marr fired home again in the 24th minute and it took a whole 9 minute before Mark McLeod added to the tally. Craig Wilson notched Tigers 7th and Marr completed his hat-trick with a close range snipe. There was no letup in the assault on the visitors net as Guilcher slotted home in the 9th minute before Kris Phillips made it double figures with only 2 seconds left on the clock.

Matt Landsburgh replaced the relatively untested Matty Michie in the Tigers net for the 3rd period and the hosts continued to control proceedings. Although dominating possession it took until the mid way point of the period until Dan Topping fired home Tigers 11th. Stuart Sinclair added the hosts 12th and 13th goals of the with a well placed point shot followed by a close range mark. The final goal of the night came from Mark McLeod who tucked home a fine effort to seal an emphatic victory for the marauding Tigers.
