Dundee Tigers 5 - Kilmarnock Storm 5

The Kilmarnock Storm breezed in to town on Saturday and stole a point in this SNL encounter. The short benched visitors struck first blood just 3 minutes in to the game through David Thompson but Dan Topping evened things up just 2 minutes later. Topping was on the score sheet again at the midway point of the period to give the Tigers a well deseved lead and Lee Tosh added another as the period drew to a close. Despite periods of sustained pressure on the Storm net they pulled the score level at 3 apiece as Ryan Parkin then Alisdair Brown broke free to score. Paul Guilcher put the Tigers back in front with a beautiful shorthanded marker to end the period scoring and give the hosts a 1 goal cushion going in to the final stanza. The Storm levelled things up again through Martin McPhail on the powerplay in the 48th minute before Grant Reekie put the Tigers ahead less than a minute later. the spoils were destined to be shared though as Parkin found space to break free and slot home through the 5 hole with 8 minute remaining in the period. Tigers chased the win until the end but a Man of the Match performance from Storm Goaltender Joe Bealing kept the hosts at bay. With the shots on goal tally reading 18 on Tigers and 53 on Storm this definately feels like a point lost rather than a point gained.
